Ravens by George Dawes Green
Shaw and Romeo are heading down to Florida hoping to catch a fishing boat to Trinidad and leave their boring tech jobs in Ohio far behind them.
On a stop in a Georgia, Shaw is presented with the information that in this small town of Brunswick, a lotto ticket for $318,000,000 has been sold. Shaw hatches a plan to come in to some of that money for himself and Romeo is, for lack of a better word, the back up plan.
Prepare to be on the edge of your seat while you read it, as it plays out like a suspense movie as you turn the pages. You’re not entirely sure the “bad guys” are all bad, and the characters who are supposed to be “good”, aren’t always likeable!
Acclaimed by Stephen King as one of the best books of 2009, Ravens is a mix between laughter and terror.
*NOTE to my blog readers. Ravens contains mature language and themes and in my opinion the content within if tagged with a movie rating, would be an R.
If you are part of a Book Club and are looking for a read that will have lots of discussion around it, this title will fit the bill.
