Hah! With all the Disney movie postings I’ve been doing this week, I bet you though this was a Disney DVD or movie sequel to The Little Mermaid, but I assure you it’s not.

Actually this is the real deal, over in Denmark they just unveiled “Han” (no not Solo, stay with me here – Han actually means “him” in Danish). He’s a polished stainless steel sculpture of a young boy on a stone, in the same artistic vein as ‘The Little Mermaid’.

Most people would never realize that my family immigrated to the United States.  We don’t look different then the majority of the population, we don’t speak different, we can read and write English fluently and have no problem adapting to societal norms.

That is due to the fact that we emigrated from Canada, but people who don’t know us are always surprised when we tell them.  Of course having become naturalized citizens also meant that we had to take the Citizenship Test. 

Hasbro Bonkazonks features the Marvel superheroes in a toy/game.

Bonkazonks figures come in a ‘face’ case – a main kit comes with 4 figures but it fits 10, so you can buy more for your collection and store them in the case.  We received a case featuring Iron Man.

I’m not a big alcohol drinker, it’s rare indeed for me to choose it over a non-alcoholic drink.  Most of the time I’ll take a ‘virgin’ drink over the more potent kind, while on occasion I will indulge in a glass of wine, or in the case of my trip to the Kentucky Derby…some bourbon…LOL!

One drink I do enjoy though is a Bloody Mary.  And it’s no wonder, I read in a magazine once that the hot sauce that is one of the ingredients in it, prompts the brain to release happiness hormones that actually work in seconds.  So it’s a tasty and happy drink!

When it comes to making movies, Disney is always out in full force as you can tell from my blog postings this week!

August 15th will see the release of “The Odd Life of Timothy Green”, which is a drama/comedy movie. It has a PG rating.

For anyone who reads my blog regularly, well you’ll know that Disney has a special place in our hearts.  The magic of Disney doesn’t end just because you grow up – pixie dust is for all ages and that’s where Disney’s D23: The Official Disney Fan Club comes in.

Edgar Rice Burroughs is mainly remembered today as the man who wrote “Tarzan”, but The Princess of Mars series (which is what John Carter is based on) is in my opinion one of his ultimate works.

From Academy Award-winning filmmaker Andrew Stanton (WALL•E) “John Carter” is an adaptation of Burroughs’ books, the sweeping action-adventure set on the mysterious and exotic planet of Barsoom (Mars).  The movie isn’t spot-on with the books, as it combines portions of three of the books into one movie, so you’ll notice some combining of sorts.  Regardless it holds true to Burroughs’ general theme and story.

We saw a trailer for this new Disney movie coming out October 5th. It is done by Tim Burton, who is very well known for his somewhat “macabre” creativity when it comes to directing.

What seems to make this stop-motion animated film unique is that it was filmed in black and white and rendered in 3D. I wasn’t sure when we saw the trailer if the black and white was just a “marketing” gimmick, but it looks like it wasn’t. I’m interested in seeing how that will go over with the young’uns.

Beautiful beaches and awesome natural beauty are big attractions in California – but with the first day of summer almost upon us, I bet the california farmers market is bursting at the seams with vegetables and fruits.

But what to do with all of that fresh, delicious produce?  I know right?
