I’ll admit it, taco night is usually pretty boring around here.  My family isn’t very adventurous when it comes to new flavors, and we stick with the basics.  Ground beef, shredded lettuce, shredded cheese, and some refried beans just for me.

So when Old El Paso® challenged me to put a twist on tacos, I had to think outside the box on something that would make our tacos a little more unique but so that the family would still eat them.

Old El Paso® Taco Seasoning Mix is always a hit in our home, I like how I can manipulate how much we add to our beef since we’re not lovers of hot and spicy.  So when all the standard ingredients were ready on the table,

I pulled out the ‘twist’ for our tacos that evening.  Mango Peach Salsa.

Our teenage daughter enjoyed the ‘twist’ ingredient very much, and thought we should add different flavors of salsa every time we eat tacos now.

It was, if I do say so myself, a much needed punch to the mundane tacos we usually eat.

You can learn more about Old El Paso® products on their website and find lots of great tasting recipes to give your taco night a twist.

  1. Wow! So many great recipes! I'd like to go for the Seven Layer Stand 'N Stuff Tacos first.

  2. OMG! The chocolate covered dream taco looks delicious.
We usually end up eating taco salads because we are messy mexicans. I also like making Mexican lasagna by layering soft shells, meat, cheese and all the fixens (except lettuce) and baking. Top with sour cream, salsa or guac and eat.
