Okabashi Shoes: American Made Comfort

I know some of you around the country are still dealing with some unexpected weather surprises.  SNOW IN MAY?!  Come on’ – that’s RIDICULOUS!  At the risk of a few eye rolls from some of you 😉 here in North Texas we’ve broken up the endless rains with a few hot days that are peaking toward summer.  I’m dreaming of weeks on end of hot weather and am already prepping my wardrobe for it as well.  That means the summer staples of tank tops and flip flops.

I have odd feet and so it’s difficult for me to find shoes that are comfortable and affordable.  The flip flops in the stores around me are generally either flimsy, not made for everyday wear (I mean HELLO I want to wear them around sand and water!), or outrageously out of my budget.

This past month I was introduced to Okabashi.  In case you are not familiar with Okabashi, they are a family owned footwear company based out of Georgia.

Okabashi takes a very unique approach to footwear design, as each shoe is carefully crafted with foot therapy in mind.  Additionally, Okabashi flip flops/sandals are 100% recyclable and because they are manufactured in the U.S., this prevents over 10,000 miles of carbon emissions from being released into our air.

Okabashi sent me a pair of their Indigo Sport Sandals in the black and neon blue color to try.  The Indigo Sport is a two-piece sandal, that features a sporty fabric upper with smooth durable Microplast backing and is perfect for active lifestyles.  Strategically—placed reflexology beads on the ergonomic foot-bed gently massage and stimulate the feet.  They are made in the USA, although the strap itself is imported.

They are super cute and comfortable flip flops and I love the fun and fresh pop of color they have.  I have already had to clean them after I planted my foot right into some wet mud, and was impressed at how easy they were to clean.  I also really like that I can support a USA-made product. Not only are these flip flops great, as a company Okabashi values the environment and sustainability efforts.  I will definitely be getting another pair of sandals from Okabashi in the future.

One other thing, I LOVE that they offer active duty military personnel, veterans, retired military, military spouses and dependents 10% off their purchases.  Isn’t that fantastic?!

Want to see all the other styles they offer?  You can shop for Okabashi footwear on their website at Okabashi.com

Disclosure: We did receive a pair of Okabashi footwear to try, but we were not obligated to write about them for the product.  We wrote as a courtesy to share the brand with you because, sponsored or not, we only share stuff we love.
