North Texas residents can now take their movie experience to the next level at the Moviehouse & Eatery‘s new location, the fast developing Lakeside area on FM 2499, in Flower Mound, TX.The lobby of the theater has a comfortable seating area—and if you’re waiting for your companions prior to a movie it offers full bar service and a menu of seasonal cocktails. The brick work accents throughout the lobby really make it feel high class.
The Moviehouse & Eatery dine-in theater’s menu is impressive and the food is fresh, and made-from scratch! Can I tell you how hard it was to choose from the amazing sounding dishes on the menu? Well it was! Moviehouse and Eatery invited some local DFW bloggers to check out their new space in Flower Mound and treated us to an awesome evening. They started us out with some of their selections in the lounge.
The Seasonal Date Plate – Perfect for two. A combination of sharp cheddar, Asiago, triple cream Brie, fresh mozzarella, & prosciutto. Served with chile-marinated mango,tomato-peach chutney, fresh tomatoes, & balsamic reduction.Margherita Pizza -Delectably sweet grape tomatoes smothered in creamy hand-shredded mozzarella finished with tons of basil.
Double Dip Shrimp -Hand-dredged shrimp delicately fried & tossed in a creamy Thai Remoulade. Finished with Daikon slaw & cilantro.
The 9 theaters feature luxury seating. The chairs are super comfortable, reclining so you can completely relax while watching your movie. Your food will set nicely atop the moveable trays attached.
While we were in the theater (watching The Gift which is a really well done movie) we were encouraged to try out many more menu items. Pretzel Stix and the Cavatappi & Cheese were just a couple of the many dishes that jumped out at me. But I ended up ordering the Fried Lollipops (because really how can you not be intrigued by that name?!) Hand-breaded, french-cut chicken drummettes deep fried to perfection & tossed in your choice of Thai Remoulade, Garlic Parmesan, Hellboy, Bourbon BBQ, or Buffalo sauce. Served with sage blue cheese. I chose the Garlic Parmesan and Bourbon BBQ sauces and substituted ranch for the blue cheese. So, so, so good – I would not hesitate to order these again the next time I visit Moviehouse and Eatery. Excuse the flash photos, dark room and all that 😉 At least with a theater of bloggers no one took offense with the flashes popping off as we photographed our food (don’t do that in a normal showing!!).
Can we talk dessert for a second? I honestly didn’t really have room for any, but how can one pass up fresh baked, warm cookies served hot from the oven to your chair? Well the answer is… you can’t 😉 Three cookies, all the same or a combination of any of them, you can have them Á la mode or double fudge dip them for some extra sinful pleasure. Choose from chocolate chunk, oatmeal raisin, & white chocolate macadamia.
Makes you want to visit Moviehouse & Eatery just for the cookies, right?! 🙂
