Low Calorie Sunset Floats

I know a good many of you have already been hit with a deep freeze this year.  While it’s not quite so cold in North Texas, it’s still pretty nippy and what I wouldn’t do to spend a few days in the tropics.  Since that won’t be happening any time soon, I whipped up some tropical flavored floats.  Being as the holidays are just around the corner and I’d prefer to watch my calories sooner rather than later, I made these to be low calorie using Sunkist TEN and Canada Dry TEN.  All of the flavor of an ice cream float, but using fruit, yogurt and the #drinkTEN sodas, a lot lower in calories than a traditional one.

I picked some of the 2 Liters up when I was at Kroger during their current 10 Weeks of TEN event that’s happening right now.

If you make these in the evening and then prop your feet up in front of the fireplace, you may just convince yourself you’re feeling the warmth on the beach while watching the sunset in the tropics 😉

LOW CALORIE SUNSET FLOATS
Serves 3 to 4

Ingredients

• 1 large frozen banana, cut in slices
• 1 cup frozen pineapple
• 1 6oz container of tropical flavored yogurt (mango, pineapple, coconut, mixed blend, etc.)
• 1 cup crushed ice
• 8 oz. (or more if desired) of Sunkist TEN or Canada Dry TEN

Instructions

1. Place banana, pineapple, yogurt and ice in a blender and blend until consistency of a thick slush, about 2 to 3 minutes.
2. Scoop 1/2 to 3/4 cup of mixture into individual cups/glasses.
3. Slowly add Sunkist TEN or Canada Dry TEN to cups/glasses.  Serve immediately with a straw &/or spoon

 

Using Canada Dry TEN and Sunkist TEN for holiday entertaining this season just makes sense.  Since they have just 10 great tasting calories, there’s no guilt in drinking or serving them, plus they’re great to mix in punches and other beverages to add some sparkle and zing.
