Let’s Get Outside! Active Family Project Playdate Promise

I received $100 from Merck Consumer Care, and any opinions expressed by me are honest and reflect my actual experience. This is a sponsored post for SheSpeaks/Merck Consumer Care.

Compared to most families I admit that we do stay indoors a lot.  We’re very fair and burn easily and we don’t like the cold much at all (good thing we’re moving to Texas right?!).  But despite that we probably spend more time outdoors than I actually let on.  Especially when we go on vacation.  Funny how that is.

I have so many great memories of the active things we’ve done when we’ve traveled.  It’s been such a pleasure to take in the sights, sounds and wonder of our daughter over the years getting to do and see things a lot of people only get to dream of.

One of the things we most enjoy doing outdoors is playing mini-golf.  We really look forward to this because we’re all equally bad at it (LOL!), and so we can all laugh with each other.  And walking around the course and taking in the fresh air while we putt is a great way to spend time together and get in a little activity at the same time.  Plus engaging in family playtime helps with making every day stress melt away and it lightens our moods.

With the moving date a mere two weeks away, I’m already excited about all the places we’ll have to explore by our new home.  It’s going to be so fun to plan and organize activities and events to attend to get to know our neighborhood and the people that live around us.

So I went over to the Active Family Project, which is a site designed to help empower moms to enjoy a healthy and active lifestyle with their families so they can live life the way they love.  It aims to spotlight tips and advice for fun family activities and build a national community of moms dedicated to adopting and promoting a healthy and active family lifestyle.

I used the Active Family Project Activity Finder to get tips and ideas for our family’s active times together in our new community.  This go-to guide offered instant solutions to our needs and aims to promote quality time for family’s to live life more fully.  It’s so easy to use too.  You just type in your location, choose a category from the right hand side, and then you can see on the map (by zooming in and out on the left side) where the nearest location for those activities are.

I found a nearby bowling lane and a beautiful park to visit that’s just north of where our new home is located.  I can’t wait to check them out, and I’m promising to make a Playdate with my family as part of the Active Family Project at both of those places.

Will you promise to make a family playdate this summer?  If so where will you go and what will you do?
