Getting your clothes clean is time consuming and usually ends up at the bottom of a long list of household chores. The average family does around 400 loads of laundry each year – which is a whole lot of time spent in the laundry room! Doing laundry doesn’t have to be at the bottom of your list any longer. With products like Tide and Maytag, and a functional, well-designed space, you can get clothes clean in one wash and have more time to spend with your family and friends.
The Home Depot is your one-stop shop for finding everything you need for your laundry room, including great cleaning products, appliances, organizing, storage and decorating items. To celebrate the #BrilliantHEClean campaign, Home Depot is offering a $100 gift card with the purchase of a Maytag Powerwash machine & 150 oz. Tide.
Home Depot local weekly ad with current deals and promotions is now available online!
To kick off the promotion, Jenny Komenda, decorator and blogger at The Little Green Notebook is sharing tips on how to create a more efficient space in your laundry room.
Jenny’s tips for redesigning and organizing your laundry room:
Tip #1:
Dealing with a dark, cave-like laundry room is a chore in and of itself! By taking off the doors on a few of your upper cabinets, you’ll open up the space and create a place to store baskets.
We have something like that in our laundry room too. We haven’t completely organized the laundry room in our new home yet because I needed the cord on our dryer to be switched out to fit the outlet, but you can see here that I can store some items for quicker access.
Tip #5:
Don’t neglect your laundry room walls! Hanging interesting art and mirrors will elevate your room and make it feel less utilitarian and more “homey”. Suddenly those 400 loads of laundry most of us will do his year might actually be enjoyable!
Or you can do what I did….and get some vinyl decals to put up. Here is where I show my extremely geeky side and the fact that I do laundry of all kinds, uniforms and red shirts included!
