Klutz Animation Blog Tour Stop #14 (Giveaway)

Klutz books have kept me sane over the years.  With a creative child in the home, many of their books have a place on the bookshelf in Amber’s bedroom.  They make great gifts for kids of all ages, for traveling and are an instant cure for the “I have nothing to do’s”.  They have books for the crafty girl, and the silly boy, and more often than not, I have seen adults perusing the pages of the books we own!  A favorite in our home is the Draw Star Wars The Clone Wars.

I am honored to be a part of the new Klutz Blog Tour that has been a part of the blogosphere.  I am stop number 14 on this 16 blog tour.  The book being featured; “The Klutz Book of Animation”.   This book contains everything your kid (or you!) needs to make their banana a movie star, by teaching them step-by-step instructions on making stop motion animation.

Starting is easy, you just need a computer (as long as it isn’t ancient, ie. if you’re using it as a door stop…it’s old), a video camera or web cam, a cable to attach said camera to the computer, SAM (that’s the free animation software Klutz recommends, and let’s you in on the place to download it.  As you see a lot of this you have in your home already.  Now get ready to have your child create some really funny stop motion videos.  You also get free download access to sound effects to really get those videos rockin’.

Woot, woot!  The blog tour made a personal stop motion animation video just for my blog ~ Attack of the Killer Sand Snake (ooh sounds scary…but it’s not ☺).  Watch what you can do with the Klutz Book of Animation:

I think we just might use this with out Girl Scout troop for them to earn a movie making or animation badge.
