Christmas stockings are a fun tradition that I grew up with. My siblings and I all had different but ‘matching’ stockings and they were hung on the fireplace mantle. My stocking was a white felt with an angel on it, and one year the fire must have gotten too hot in the fireplace, because I distinctly remember it having a brown stain on the back heel of it!
Once I got married and had a family of my own, hanging stockings wasn’t a part of our Christmas decorating. The first home we lived in had a fireplace but it was in our basement and we rarely went down there. Our next homes didn’t have fireplaces and we didn’t really have a place to hang stockings, so we just didn’t do it.

Included are the hooks to hang your stockings on. The description states that it holds up to 5 stockings, but my stocking holder came with 6 hooks – I guess I got a bonus!
