Not too long ago our daughter forgot to turn her lights off when she got to work. Of course she called Dad to come boost her when she was ready to come home and found her card dead in the parking lot. While we haven’t had to use the JumpStart yet for actually jump starting a vehicle battery, it is now in her car to save her for if (or maybe I should say ‘when’ LOL) it happens again. It’s also peace of mind for us as parents that she has a way to boost her battery if we can’t come to the rescue, since you don’t need another vehicle to use it.
I did try it out as a power bank though. My phone charged quickly and didn’t drain it out. One thing to note is that it does have an On/Off switch on the bottom (where you physically charge both the device and where you would plug your USB in to use as a power bank). So should your JumpSmart not work, you may want to check that it is turned on!
The flashlight is really bright, and the S.O.S. setting on it is reassuring if you need to use it in an emergency.
The JumpSmart comes with some handy stickers on it that remind you to charge the unit every three months and a general warning sticker for the flashlight and tampering. Unfortunately in my case these stickers did not come off cleanly 🙁 and required a lot of scraping and scrubbing and ultimately I had to resort to using Goo Gone on it to get the adhesive off.
