A lot of my dear bloggy friends have a deep heart for animals. Many of them foster kittens, some of them have taken in dogs from kill shelters and some volunteer their time promoting their 4-legged friends to gain a home.

While I don’t talk about animals much on my blog, Knowing that there are many more of you out there who care about them,  I wanted to make you aware of a charitable cause that works towards helping dogs have better lives.

Dog lover or not, I’m sure you all have heard of Cesar Millan, “The Dog Whisperer” – well on September 29, 2012, in Washington, D.C., Cesar will lead the second annual National Family Pack Walk. All money raised will help save the lives of shelter dogs.

The 1.5 mile walk around the National Mall will be not only have “The Dog Whisperer” in the front of the pack, but none other than Scooby-Doo too! After the walk in the afternoon attendees will find Scooby-Doo themed activities, such as arts & crafts, reading, games, a scavenger hunt and more!
