I’m really having a difficult time getting my head around the fact that Halloween is at the end of this week. This is just our second October in Texas, and I still can’t believe that I’m walking around in tank tops, shorts and flip flops. Seeing my friends’ in Canada’s photos yesterday on Facebook with snow on the ground, made me hop on my Samsung S4 phone powered by Family Mobile Walmart Best Plans to compare our weather to their weather. Let’s face it ya’ll, you kind of have to take screenshots and flaunt it when it was 86 degrees here and only 37 degrees there.
The Unlimited Talk Text and Data/Web service through Family Mobile has been a part of our family’s lifestyle for over a year now, because of that I was proud to become a part of their ambassador program. Lest you think all I do with my phone service is post mocking screenshots on Facebook, let me tell you some other ways I’ve used my Samsung S4 and Family Mobile plan this fall.
We want to enjoy this balmy weather while it lasts and a perfect thing to do here in the DFW area in fall is visit the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden.
Due to the fact that I stay up kind of late some nights blogging, and because of that I may have forgotten to purchase tickets, while we were using the Waze app to navigate our way into Dallas to the Arboretum using the phone…
I also was conveniently able to purchase our tickets using my data connection (phew!).
Fall is an amazing time to go to the Arboretum with all the pumpkin and gourd displays they have.

My sister and her family are farmers and I knew my nephews would get a kick out of ‘pumpkin houses.’ So with my Family Mobile Unlimited Talk Text and Data/Web I sent her a MMS Text to share with her boys.
Taking in the beauty of the gardens and all it has to offer is a wonderful way to spend a gorgeous fall day. We even stumbled across this fantastic spider web.

My phone even helped us out when we saw a family who did not speak English taking a photo with one of them of course not in it. I was able to use the S Translator to ask if they’d like us to take the photo so they’d all be in it. How handy is that app already loaded on the phone if you’re traveling in a foreign country?!
This fall hasn’t been all fun and games for our family though. I got an early morning Skype call on my phone from our daughter, who is at college, letting us know she lost her phone. With Walmart Family Mobile, it was so easy to suspend her phone by just calling the customer service line. That prompted us to look at the Samsung Galaxy Exhibit Smartphone for $99.88 and the Walmart Family Mobile LG Optimus L90 Smartphone for $149.88 (on rollback from $179.88) in the event that we needed to replace hers.
Lucky for her, this Mom made her put a label on her phone before leaving for college in August. (But Mom, I’m not in Kindergarten any more. Insert eye roll here…)
And guess how the campus police tracked her down when someone turned her phone in a week later?! 🙂 (I felt so vindicated, just saying…)
Again just as easy as it was to suspend the line, it was just that easy to reactivate it. And because these are no contract plans, we didn’t have to pay for the time her line was in suspension.
She learned a dose of responsibility, we saved some cash, she got her phone back. I’d say that was a win/win situation if there ever was one 😉

I love all the mutant pumpkins!! We've done a corn maze and pumpkin patch so far.

We have played in the leaves, picked apples, gone to the park…most days it is warm out our children play on their homemade swing hanging from one of our backyard trees. 😉
