If You’re Tailgating…You Need Wisk!

Summer may have beaches and barbecues, but fall has tailgating!  Whether you’re a die-hard sports fan or more like our family and prefer the t.v. version, grilling the hamburgers and eating them is fun for everyone.  Nothing beats a big juicy burger hot off the grill… until the ketchup squeeze intended for the bun lands on your favorite t-shirt…and that t-shirt happens to be white.

Take heart, tailgaters (and mothers everywhere)!  At last, there’s good news for ketchup lovers and the BBQ sauce gourmets.  Thanks to new Wisk with Stain Spectrum Technology you can fight each of the major stain groups.

Well Wisk once again sent their lab to our home, and asked me to conduct a little experiment, where my daughter would get some ketchup on her shirt, and see if Wisk meets the bar in carbohydrate stain removal (which includes stains from fudge brownies, syrup, honey mustard and of course ketchup).

So what happens when you give a 14 year old a white t-shirt, a couple of packets of Hunts ketchup, a basting brush, and the artistic freedom to design?  Well see for yourself.

Ewww…. well now we’ll see what Wisk can do for you and your laundry.  I dabbed off the excess ketchup, and then pre-treated the stain with Wisk Laundry Detergent.

At this point I scrubbed the stain for 30 seconds and then let it sit for five minutes, allowing the Stain Spectrum Technology to penetrate the fibers.

Then I rinsed the t-shirt under lukewarm water.  There were quite a bit of suds, because well she made the stain so large, so when I pre-treated it, I used quite a bit of Wisk on it.  You can see that with just rinsing there was still a faint trace of the ketchup stains.

But realistically, who does their laundry on a washboard these days.  Heck, I know I don’t.  So I threw a load of laundry in, including the t-shirt.  33 minutes later….no stains!

Touchdown, Wisk!  Worked like a charm.

  1. That's a great post, I love the photos. I'm having trouble getting inpired to do this once because I hate playing with food. I'm so OCD about it. Ugg, I'll just suck it up and do it. You did a great job.

  2. @Tammy – Wisk actually supplied us with the shirt 🙂 – But I feel confident now that any of our own clothing will fair well when we wash with Wisk – at least with Ketchup stains ☺.

@Louise – Thanks! Amber really enjoyed this, Mom doesn't let her play with her food much (especially not at 14!)
