S’mores are a favorite summer treat for most everyone, but if you want to switch it up a bit, a great way to do it is to add a banana to the mix.
Now I’m a big fan of bananas in any way, shape or form, but if you’ve never had grilled bananas before the texture might take a while to get used to. The bananas do get soft, especially if they are at peak ripeness, plus as you probably know bananas get brown when they get warm.
The addition of Cocoa Pebbles for part of the chocolate in the s’mores, gives it a really rich flavor and allows you to spread the filling in your banana pocket a bit easier as the Pebbles get soft from the moisture of the banana.
Grilled Cocoa Pebbles Banana S’mores
4 large bananas
1/4 cup Cocoa Pebbles Cereal
2 tablespoons Mini Chocolate Chips
1 graham cracker square, crushed
1/3 cup miniature marshmallows
Cut each banana lengthwise about 1/2 inch deep, leaving 1/2 inch uncut at both ends. Gently pull each banana open, forming a pocket.
Fill each pocket with Cocoa Pebbles cereal, chocolate chips, crushed graham cracker and marshmallows, evenly divided among the four bananas.
Wrap each banana in foil and grill over medium heat for 4-5 minutes or until marshmallows are melted.
Serves 4. One banana per serving.
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes
I’ll admit taking beautiful photographs of grilled bananas with melted chocolate and marshmallows is a bit difficult. But the result is an ooey gooey mess that delivers on rich chocolate taste.
If you like the chocolate chips can be substituted with peanut butter chips for more of a layered flavor profile.
*Samples of Cocoa Pebbles were provided to me for assistance in creating this recipe.

Ooh, that sounds so yummy! The combination of banana, peanut butter, and chocolate is genius. I'd love to have this with some caramel drizzled on top with a scoop of vanilla.
