Enjoy Mighty Leaf Tea – Hot or Cold! Giveaway

I have enjoyed drinking the different teas from Mighty Leaf Tea for a while now.  You might remember back at Christmas time I highlighted a gift giving package perfect for the colder weather.  And back in 2011 I shared about their Iced Tea.  I always feel like I’m going on a taste adventure when I brew up a cup of Mighty Leaf Tea whether it’s hot or cold!

Not too long ago Mighty Leaf Tea sent me their Mighty Leaf Taste of the Tropics Sampler.  This sampler set includes the Green Tea Tropical, Organic African Nectar and Vanilla Bean.  Sweet tropical fruits and heady aromas greet you as you brew these teas.  They compile a great selection of teas; a smooth green tea, an African roobios and a China black tea.

So while I did my fair share of complaining about the less than desirable winter here in North Texas (and really this Northern bred girl had nothing to complain about), the temperatures are finally rising around here.  We’re trying to hold off putting the A/C on for as long as we can.  Back in January and even March hot tea sounded divine… but now iced tea is where it’s at when it’s 83 degrees outside AND inside!

Making iced tea with a Mighty Leaf Tea Bag is easy and and really quite quick.  You can have the taste of fresh brewed iced tea in minutes.

All you need to do is add a couple of teaspoons of sugar to the bottom of your cup (make sure it’s a heat resistant one, the Mighty Leaf Teatop Brew Travel Mug is a great choice for this).  Add 6 oz of hot water (be sure not to over-boil the water as it makes flat tasting tea) and stir to dissolve your sugar.  Immerse your chosen tea pouch completely in the hot water and move it back and forth several times to maximize water flow through the bag.  Steep for the recommended brew time on the tag of the tea pouch (anywhere from 3 to 5 minutes, don’t oversteep or your tea can have a bitter taste).  Add ice.  Enjoy!

Some mornings when it’s still relatively cool outside, I like to sit on our back deck and enjoy a hot cup of the Vanilla Bean or Organic African Nectar.  It’s just a fragrant and sweet way to start my morning in a relaxing way before the busy day starts.

And whether I want to keep my tea hot or cold the TeaTop Brew Travel Mug accomplishes that for me.  And it’s so handy to brew on the go, because the used tea pouch nestles in the lid – so there’s no mess!  If you have a mom in your life that loves tea a Mighty Leaf Sampler Trio and a TeaTop Brew Travel Mug would make a great Mother’s Day gift!

Don’t forget about the Mighty Leaf Spa Week Event sweepstakes that includes a grand prize of two nights in San Francisco, two spa treatments, a year’s worth of Mighty Leaf Tea and a Tea Kettle.  There is still a couple of days to get your entries in, it ends on 4/30/14.
