Winter storm Orko was headed our way, and while we never need an excuse to have Family Movie Night around here, it sure was a good one to get cozied up in front of the TV and have a Jungle Party and watch The Jungle Book: Rumble in the Jungle.
Since last fall we started doing themed family movie nights. Where we have food and snacks and activities revolving around the movie we’re watching.
The evening’s feature was all about the jungle, The Jungle Book: Rumble in the Jungle, (Which releases EXCLUSIVELY at Walmart for $14.86 with collectible toys on February 12th, 2013 (March 5 in Canada), national release in May.)
There’s trouble in the jungle, and as usual, Mowgli and Mani are at the center of it all! While they enjoy their time drumming away at logs in the jungle, Shere Khan plots to put an end to the noise. Meanwhile, Tabaqui is stuck in a well, Appu gets lost, and there’s something fishy going on at the Cold Lair…Will Mowgli escape the clutches of the evil Shere Khan, and manage to still have time to join his friends in the jungle rhythm? This action packed DVD brings you the best of The Jungle Book.
We prepared party food fit for the jungle. I made some sugar animal cookies and the kids of all ages had fun decorating them (and eating them too!).
We had banana chips for the monkeys, Cheetos for the cats, Gummi Worms for the snakes and chocolate Teddy Grahams for the bears.
And it wouldn’t be a party without juice in Party Monkey Cups! (LOL)
The DVD contains a downloadable activity kit, so we printed off the activities for some fun before and after the movie! (This mama liked the included “chore chart” the best ).
This is a cute movie for your family to enjoy together, perfect for ages 2-6, but everyone who is familiar with the classic The Jungle Book Movie will have fun with it, especially when paired with a theme night like we did. There is plenty to laugh at, and lessons to be learned in the hour spent watching.

Tammy Litke was sent sample items and a gift card to assist her in holding a family movie night to promote this DVD.
