Texting has got to be the most convenient forms of communication. Assuming of course that the person you want to text has something more than a dinosaur or brick for a cell phone. Which, my husband does not. Go figure, the man that turned me into a self-proclaimed geeky nerd is falling behind the curve. But in all seriousness, phoning him isn’t always an option and being able to communicate and organize our daily activities beyond messaging isn’t always the easiest of tasks. He makes plans, and forgets to tell me, I need to tell him something but can’t get ahold of him. I’m sure you have been in the same boat a time or two.
Imagine my delight when I was introduced to Twyxt an iOS app that allows you and that one special person in your life to connect. It’s free and its interface is fun and easy to use. Now my husband and I can keep up with each other, send messages (yes even without a phone that can text!) and keep up with events through this app.
I’m excited that through just his Wi-Fi connection and the Private Messaging feature, Hubby can get in touch with me during the day, even when he doesn’t have a chance to phone. I in turn can let him know what I’m up to, with the fun MoodSharing (my favorite…I’m Blogging, LOL!).
If I need to urgently get a hold of him and he’s not connected to Wi-Fi, the messaging feature also allows you to send the ‘text’ via e-mail (multiple ones if needed), so I can ensure that somehow or another he receives it.
When he makes plans at work, he can enter them into the Couples Calendar so I can see them. That way we don’t overlap events or I know to not schedule anything that same evening. Also photos that we take with our devices on that day can be attached to that event so weeks later we can remember the fun we had.
We can even make Shared Lists. How neat is that?! Whether it’s something he remembered we need for groceries, something I add for gift shopping or items we need to do to get our packing and moving done – either way we can both see it in real time.
Twyxt is here, just in time for Valentine’s Day! To read more about the app visit http://bit.ly/moretwyxt or to download it for free for iOS visit http://bit.ly/twyxtdl. Don’t have an iOS device…the app will be available soon for Android too!
