I had a resolution to dye Easter eggs this year. Sadly, the last time we actually dyed them at home was ten years ago! How, I wonder, have I managed to get away with not having done this for so many years?! Probably because my daughter has some fantastic aunts and a grandma, who are more reasonable than I am when it comes to working with dye and children in the same proximity. Since half the time we’re on the go traveling and visiting relatives over the Easter holiday , I’ve just let them pick up my slack in the Easter egg department.
I haven’t gotten over my fear of a dye covered table, floor and child…but since my daughter is older now, I’m a bit more rational about the whole dying eggs tradition. Thankfully PAAS and Heinz Vinegar make the process, easy and (relatively) mess free.
If I have to use dye, I’m gonna tell you, I’m a fan of the PAAS dye tablets, way easier than using liquid dye colors.
They actually even went one step further to solve my dye dilemma. Heinz and PAAS Easter Egg Dyeing Kits teamed up to give an egg-decorating experience an extra special virtual twist:
• A new, fun (and free!) “Egg Decorator” iPad app allows you to decorate ultra-vibrant Easter eggs with just the touch of your finger.
• For every Easter egg that “dyed” through the app and then shared, Heinz and PAAS will donate $1.00 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, up to $25,000.
My daughter spent most of the morning creating “egg-stra” special eggs to share with friends and family using this app! Here are a couple of her creations:
What a great way to share the message of Hope at Easter! And a double plus if you’re uncomfortable around dye, like me!
Have you decorated Easter Eggs this year or in years past? If you have and blogged about it – share the link to your post in the comments so we can visit and see your family’s creativity!
“I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Heinz and PAAS and received a Heinz Vinegar bottle, a PAAS Egg Dyeing Kit, and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.”
