DIY Halloween Luminaries

We crafted a few Halloween-themed DIY luminaries from plastic buckets. Jack-o-Lanterns and Word Art will add festive decor to your home either indoors or outdoors.

Use these DIY Halloween luminaries to dress up a fireplace mantle or to create a fun entry way for when trick-or-treaters come to your door.

DIY Jack-o-Lantern Luminary Halloween Decorations

Create a less scary Jack-o-Lantern luminary that will last you longer than an actual pumpkin with this simple tutorial with supplies from Oriental Trading.

• Bucket container
• Scissors
• Black paper or felt
• Glue
• Orange premium glow sticks

DIRECTIONS

Step 1: Cut Jack-o-Lantern eyes and a mouth from black paper or black felt and adhere to the jar with glue.
Step 2: Activate and insert 2 premium glow sticks into each bucket and enjoy your paint can Jack-o-Lantern. These would make fun luminaries to light the sidewalk to your front door!

Elegant DIY Halloween Word Art Luminary Decoration

You can also turn your plastic buckets into an elegant word art luminary decoration using the below how-to.

SUPPLIES

• Bucket container
• 3″ High alphabet stickers
• Orange tulle circles
• Battery operated tea lights

DIRECTIONS

Step 1: Apply the stickers on the buckets to make whatever ‘Halloween’ word you want.  I chose ‘BOO’.
Step 2: Separate the tulle circles and stuff about 6 of them in the bucket, so that it’s full but not densely packed.
