Collin Street Bakery: A Texas Tradition – Praline Pecan Cheesecake

Collin Street Bakery is a Texas Tradition.  For over a 100 years they’ve been baking up The DeLuxe® Texas Fruitcake and Pecan Cake.  It doesn’t stop there though, they also bake up a variety of other items, including their Praline Pecan Cheesecake which is a combination of the wholesomeness of Texas native pecans and the very best of Collin Street Bakery’s New York Style Cheesecake*.They coat the pecans in sugar and syrup to produce a crunchy praline-coated confection that’s mixed into their velvety Cheesecake.The historic Collin Street Bakery is located in Corsicana, TX, which is about an hour south of Dallas.   They have other locations in the area as well.   They’ve been baking up tasty goods since 1896, so it’s not surprising that everyone raves about their cakes and other baked goods.  It’s certainly within distance of me to go to their location directly, but this is the first time I’ve tasted anything from this long standing Texas business (oh, it certainly won’t be my last!).

And after having tasted it, I no longer wonder why they have a very successful mail order portion to their business as well, allowing people everywhere a taste of this Texas tradition.  This year alone they will ship to 196 foreign lands!  Their baked goods are wrapped really well for shipping, just be sure to refrigerate your order as soon as it arrives as items are perishable.I have eaten lots of cheesecakes 😉 and this by far is the best I’ve ever had.   Perfect for a delicious dessert.  You aren’t going to need a large piece, it’s very rich.  One slice is just the right amount for dessert.  I love pecans/pralines and this cheesecake didn’t disappoint on any level.

I would say it is also a great gift for a friend or family member when you can’t be around to share a special occasion but would still like to send something.  Want to impress someone?  This is the cake to buy.  I would beyond a doubt serve it at Christmas or Thanksgiving dinner.My family loved this cheesecake and I will definitely be getting more items from Collin Street Bakery in the future.
