Part of making summer special are the cold treats on those hot days.

I’m sure most moms have some sort of ice cream or frozen novelties on their shopping list each week during the summer months.

I know it’s our primary source of DAIRY all summer long!

Is the heat index soaring in your part of the country? It’s hot hot HOT here in South Dakota. And when it’s hot, well I don’t want to be cooking! So that’s a good time to be eating wraps!

We had company this past weekend, and we had a feast with Tumaro’s Tortillas new New York Deli Style Wraps. They come in five flavors; Cracked Pepper, Everything, Pumpernickel, Sour Dough and Rye.

New toys are always fun to get. When we were younger our splurge items were things like electronics. Now you’ll find our “toys” are more along the lines of household goods and relaxing vacations.

This past spring I was able to boast on Facebook that for our newest splurge purchase, my husband and I got a tempurpedic mattress. There were a number of different tempurpedic mattresses that we could have chosen from. We chose the Tempur-Cloud Supreme.

North Star Games the makers of Say Anything, Wits & Wagers and Crappy Birthday are looking for fans to come up with fun questions for those games and submit them on their Facebook page. Because their games are so simple, even if you have never played them before, you can still easily come up with questions for them.

The contest starts today and will run for two weeks.

I am one of those strange people that actually “like” doing laundry.  I say that a bit tongue and cheek, because quite obviously if I didn’t have to do it I wouldn’t.  But even with the never ending cycle of clothes going in and clothes going out of the laundry room, I don’t actually mind doing it.  Of course, that could be because there are only three of us in the house…I can’t imagine what my mom or mother-in-law did with four and five kids respectively, and without even all the conveniences I have at my disposal to clean our clothes!

When Amber was little we did a lot of bike riding.  I had one of those trailers that attached to the rear of my bike and we would go riding pretty much everywhere; to the grocery store, Starbucks, my mom’s place.  Those are good memories!
