BRAVE on 3D Blu-ray DVD Combo Pack Now ~ Give Away

The newly released DVDs for Disney/Pixar’s BRAVE  are now in stores and online nationwide. “Brave” is Pixar Animation Studio’s 13th consecutive hit.

To prove the point that “Brave” has something for everyone…

I have to say I was a little concerned with the picture that was being painted a the beginning of the movie with Merida’s attitude of defiance and lack of responsibility. Maybe that is because I’m raising a teenage girl right now and see MANY similarities in Queen Elinore and Merida’s relationship. But then I also know most Disney animated features follow the “Legends are lessons, they ring with truth,” and that Merida would learn a lesson by the end of the movie. It was also interesting to watch the bonus feature Merida & Elinor where you can see how the filmmakers delved deep into the relationship between mother and daughter. The thought that went into the character development is intrinsic to the movie.

My husband IS King Fergus, between the public gaffs and parenting style. He and my daughter were nudging each other about it the whole movie!

Slapstick humor is never lost on my family and they laughed until tears rolled down their faces when the clans present themselves for the challenge to win Merida’s hand, and at the ‘games’ too.

Hamish, Hubert & Harris are three little boys causing all sorts of trouble! It sure makes me glad I never went through that with little boys! But I’m sure some of you will relate to their antics with your own children!

If you’re lucky enough to be able to view this title in 3D in your home, the 3D animation when Merida & her mom follow the Will O’ the Wisps through the Scottish Highlands is fantastic. The animation in every Pixar movie seems to get better and better, and if you watch the bonus features you’ll understand why. It amazes me how much work, and creative process goes into this film that is often lost on the average viewer.

We saw this movie in the theater last summer, but didn’t stay until the credits were over…make sure you watch all the way through, we did this time…and we had a cute surprise waiting for us when they were done!

If your family will purchasing and watching this title for Thanksgiving, Christmas or another holiday, we are excited to share downloadable character cutouts and a backdrop of the DunBroch banquet hall, for your children to play with to recreate the fun from “Brave.” They can cut out the Brave characters, then prop up the backdrop and watch their imaginations run as wild as Merida’s hair!
