Bloominous DIY Flower Project

My mom is one of those people who has a natural talent for arranging flowers.  It kind of runs in the family as her aunt and uncle owned a green house way back in the old country and then her cousins now are still in the flower business.  It did however skip a generation, at least with me anyway.  I have a hard time keeping flowers alive much less arranging them for a centerpiece or bouquet.

A thank you gift was received for sharing this information with you.

That’s why I was interested in when I learned about Bloominus, a great website that provides easy DIY floral arrangements kits for weddings and events.  There’s no way in heck I would have tackled DIY flowers for my own wedding, but with this alternative DIY option for occasion flowers I just might surprise my mother 😉

I can see a few reasons why one might want to use a service like Bloominus for a special event.  One would be to save money.

Florists don’t come cheap.  By the time you add up the girls’ bouqets, the guys boutonnieres, and centerpieces for the reception… there’s some serious cash outlay happening.

They even offer a Trial Kit at cost for each design so a couple can assess the design and the DIY work involved before purchasing the full package.

Their kits seem to be pretty easy DIY, even for a novice like me.  The flowers come cut-to-order, there are no pesky thorns to prick your fingers, and everything is trimmed.  I like that, because often I don’t even know what to do when someone presents me with flowers from the grocery store and they hand me the plastic wrapped arrangement with a couple of packets of “flower food.”

The kits come with detailed assembly instructions (only taking 10 to 20 minutes per piece), floral care products and they include some design tips.  Think of it as IKEA for event flowers!  (Well maybe a little different, I don’t recall the last time a piece of IKEA furniture only took me 10 to 20 minutes to assemble!)

Even though you saved money and did them yourself…you’ll look like a pro.  Every collection that has specialty flowers are designed by a florist with over ten years of experience.  They take care to make sure that it’s not just about the flower but also design an entire look including the vases and favors that are up to date with current trends in the industry.

Currently they have five unique collections, and are adding more each month.  Check it out at http://bloominous.com.

  1. I love this, flowers and plants can really enhance the atmosphere of a home, especially when beautifully arranged, but I never had a clue how to do it!
