Banana Seal Review

I have about 5 different kinds of crackers or chips opened at any one time in my cupboard.  We like to have a variety of choices, but with only three of us in the house, it takes a while to get through a bag. It can take us a month or longer to finish any one bag, so even if they are put away with a “chip clip”, by the time we’re done eating them they have a bit of that stale taste to them.

There’s a unique bag seal on the market called a Banana Seal and I had the opportunity to take these seals for a test drive.

The original Banana Seal is the perfect solution to keeping snacks and other bags sealed airtight – guaranteed.  The Re-Useable Banana Seal is designed to provide an airtight seal on any bag, in any condition.  The unique patented design is perfect for all types of bagged food including chips, cereal, bread, dry baking goods, coffee, salad greens, as well as frozen vegetables or frozen entree bags to help avoid “freezer burn”.

“Other products may keep bags closed for awhile, but they don’t provide the seal necessary to keep air out of the bag and therefore keep the food fresh,” says Jerry Magner, co-founder of Seal-A-Bag.  “Not only useful for food, the Banana Seal can keep things like pet food, garden soil amendments, fertilizer, bird seed, kitty litter, and so much more as fresh as the day you bought it.”

It’s called a Banana Seal, because it resembles a banana!  There’s an inner portion and an outer shell.  You remove the inside of the seal, place the outer shell along the bag you are wanting to keep airtight, and then you place the inner part back within the shell.  It’s easy to use and covers the large size covers the length of an entire chip bag (something most chip clips are unable to do).  The seal stays in place and doesn’t “wiggle” off the bag like chip clips sometimes do.

It’s really as easy to use as it is to peel a banana, so kids can use them too (no worries about pinched fingers in spring clips).

Banana Seals come in three sizes, 11 1/2, 9 1/2 and 7 1/2 inches.  I like that they are very versatile you can use them in the freezer and if by chance they get dirty, you can wash them in the dishwasher.

Banana Seals are available in packages with the assorted sizes or the large ones can be purchased individually.  You can find them at retailers nationwide and at Amazon.com.
