Well anyone who has been a follower of my blog for a while will know that our family loves Disney. If you’re new here, just click the Disney link on the navigation bar and you’ll see.
There is nothing quite like a vacation with the mouse, and we have four cruises and numerous Disney World visits to prove it.
But the ultimate trip for us is combining them both; Disney World followed by a Disney Cruise. We did that in 2008. We spent three days in Disney World and then took a seven day Caribbean cruise. It was, as Hannah Montana says, the best of both worlds!
We went on that trip in early December, it was our first time ever visiting during the Christmas season. If you ever have a chance to book a Vacation package to Disney World at that time of the year you should. If you go after Thanksgiving and before Christmas the crowds are pretty low too.
To see the parks all decked out in their holiday finery is truly a magical experience.
The day we arrived we didn’t have enough time to visit a park, so we went to Downtown Disney. I loved the way they decorated this tree outside the toy store.
In the Magic Kingdom we enjoyed seeing Cinderella’s Castle lit up with icicles.
If you’re in the Magic Kingdom on the right days, you can pay a little extra to get a wristband and spend an evening celebrating at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
Epcot had fun holiday topiaries.
But by far The Osborne Lights in Disney’s Hollywood Studios was the most impressive holiday decorating I’ve ever seen!
Lest you think the parks have holiday decorating cornered on the Disney scene, check out this gingerbread house on the Disney Magic.
Which is not to be out done by the HUGE Christmas tree in the atrium lobby.
Even their private island Castaway Cay gets in on the fun!
So if you ever get a chance to go to Disney World, the first three weeks of December are a great time to go, because you get to experience Disney in a special way that only happens once each year.
