A Graduation Party with Dunkin’ Donuts Seasonal Coffees

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Dunkin’ Donuts. I received a Dunkin’ Donuts Party Kit to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

Our daughter’s best friend graduated high school over the weekend, and since she is literally like another daughter to us, I wanted to help her mom out with the open house party she had planned.

Since Megan had chosen to have an Ice Cream Sundae Bar for her guests, I thought it would be a good match to play barista and whip up a couple of flavors of Dunkin’ Donuts seasonal coffee blends into yummy iced coffees (see recipe below that I received from Dunkin’ Donuts)!  These seasonal coffees in Strawberry Shortcake, Coconut and Triple Berry blends are a fun & tasty way to entertain your guests and are sure to be enjoyed by any coffee-lover!

I chose to make the iced coffees in the Strawberry Shortcake and Coconut flavors for her party.

They don’t look much different from each other in the jugs, so I printed off a couple of labels that look like the brand packaging to attach to them so that everyone knew what they were reaching for.

We brewed up the Triple Berry hot for those that wanted to ward off the evening chill.

I can’t even begin to tell you how GREAT these coffees smelled while brewing them.  The Strawberry Shortcake’s aroma was evident as soon as I opened the bag, but my kitchen smelled like a summer coffee roasting house when I was all done brewing up the coffee for the iced beverages, and I totally wanted to bottle the smell!

RECIPE — Dunkin’ Donuts Iced Coffee
Makes: 4 Servings
Prep Time: 10 Minutes

Ingredients:
¾ cups of your favorite ground Dunkin’ Donuts® Coffee
3 cups cold water, divided
⅓ cup sugar
½ cup half-and-half
Whipped cream (optional)

Directions:
1. BREW coffee in coffee maker using ¾ cup ground coffee and 1 ½ cups cold water.
2. COMBINE hot brewed coffee, sugar and half-and-half in pitcher.  Stir until sugar is completely dissolved.  Blend in 1 ½ cups cold water.  Chill until ready to serve.
3. POUR over ice in tall glasses or café mugs.  Top with whipped cream if desired.  Serve immediately.

And while the graduating girl got plenty of gifts to start her off in college, we thought it was only fair that we send home some of the guests with goodies as well!  So family and friends that enjoyed some of the iced and hot coffees from Dunkin’ Donuts, took home some tumblers to make their own iced coffee in (and a recipe to help them out), reusable grocery bags, and of course some Dunkin’ Donuts coffee in one of the three seasonal flavors, plus a coupon to feed their new addiction .

I asked around to those that chose to drink the coffee beverages, and the Coconut blend was a hit!

Everyone who tried it thought it was really good.

The hot Triple Berry coffee got the thumbs up too, just the right amount of flavor without being overwhelming.

The party was fun!  And I totally think that Dunkin’ Donuts coffees are great to serve at a party, especially the iced coffee recipe in summer time because the people that tried it sure did enjoy it!

If you are still going out to see Mom today and haven’t bought her anything yet and she happens to be a coffee-lover, you can pick these blends up at your local stores (I’ve personally seen them on the shelves at Target)…even if you live in a state that doesn’t have a Dunkin’ Donuts retail shop!  Of course you could just buy some for yourself too, but act fast since these are seasonal flavors they won’t be around forever.  I’m planning on stocking up on the Strawberry Shortcake flavor which was my favorite of the three.
