I had the wonderful opportunity to review a Stainless Steel Digital Kitchen Scale from Surpahs.com. Ever since I used the Weight Watchers program to lose over 30 pounds about 11 years ago, I’ve been in the habit of weighing my food to ensure a correct serving size.
I’ve been using this scale for a couple of weeks now and I love it. It has many more functions than my previous kitchen scale did. It’s constructed sturdily, looks sleek on my kitchen counter top (it’s just over 1/2 inch thick!), is easy to wipe down and clean and has four stable feet so it doesn’t slide around.
The scale is easy to switch between a variety of weight options including ounces, grams, fluid ounces and milliliters (which I really appreciate since originally being Canadian, I still have a lot of recipes that I make that are in metric). The tare function works accurately, and the base of the scale is large enough that you can put a decent sized plate or bowl on it. Even if you have to set it back some to see the read out, it doesn’t affect the accuracy of the weight.
It takes two CR-2032 batteries to function (included), and has an indicator on the panel to alert you if the batteries are running low. They are simple to access. The scale can weigh up to 11 pounds. Besides weighing your food for consumption and recipes it can also be used for mail, or even to fill small travel containers with just the right amount of liquids for carry ons when you need to fly.
Surpahs.com offers other digital scales and bamboo products as well. You can find this scale on Amazon.com – the price at the time of publishing this blog post is $18.98.

This looks like a great scale and how awesome is it that it's so thin?! We need to switch units a lot when making Dutch food so that's definitely a nice feature.

I would love one of these. I'm bad at guessing at food.
Wow I love this scale! I love how it shows ounces like that! I totally need one!
This looks like a great kitchen scale and is definitely sleek and modern. I really need to get back into the habit of weighing my portions.
I have a scale that looks very much like this one. I need to start using it to help get better calories counts and portion control. 🙂
My daughter dropped my scale in the sink a few months ago, and this one looks like a great replacement.
I have often thought of getting a scale. This looks like it would be perfect!
Looks nice! I have been measuring my food lately but my scale is not this high tech
This looks like a great kitchen scale. I'll keep it in mind if I need to replace mine at some point.
Digital scales can really come in handy when making sure you aren't overeating. Thanks for sharing.
