Available now in stores nationwide, is Rise of the Guardians Holiday Edition DVD. This was DreamWorks Pictures holiday blockbuster last year, and it’s being packaged with a delightful marching elf wind-up toy (inspired by the adorable elves seen in the film). But this special packaging is only available while supplies last and quantities are limited! I never saw Rise of the Guardians in the theaters last year, mostly because it didn’t really appeal to me, so I was really surprised that after seeing it I thought it was a super family movie – in particular one that is fun to watch during this holiday season!
The story of the four guardians, North (Father Christmas), Sandman, Tooth (the tooth fairy) and the Easter Bunny, along with Jack Frost puts them up against Pitch Black (the Boogeyman) as he invades children’s dreams and turns them into nightmares. This classic adventure story has the Guardians, that kids know and love, fighting back against their enemy.
The story is really wonderful, the characters have depth, there’s enough action to keep the older kids interested even if they are past the point of ‘believing’ in these fairy-tale figures and great humor that will even tickle the adult’s funny bones.
As for the cinematography of the movie, the animation is splendid. The backdrops and environments are visually immersive, and kids will love the details of the Guardians’ ‘homes’.
The DVD also features an hour of new bonus content, including a multi-chapter, behind-the-scenes look at the making of the epic and merry elf greetings. The Blu-ray DVD combo set includes exclusive bonus features like interactive games, as well as a wealth of behind-the-scenes featurettes, commentary and more.
If ever there was a family movie that you could make part of your holiday traditions…this would be it!
Has your family seen Rise of the Guardians yet? If so what did you think of it?
We haven't seen this yet, however, this would be a great gift for the family!
We have seen it an while there are a few scary parts for my daughter we love it!
My kids really like Rise Of the Guardians and the holiday edition looks fun!
My two older kids love this movie. Not quite sure why the almost 5 year old doesn't. He can't give me an answer and he sits through it just fine.
My kids keep stealing my elf!
My daughter has.,, I haven't
I really like this movie. My kids were just watching it the other day.
