One of things I notice in my daily routine is that if I’m super busy and don’t have a menu plan for the week, my family can just forget about eating a proper meal.
I’ve used a number of meal planning services in the past. I like each of them for different reasons. Recently I’ve had the chance to use Relish!
For folks that haven’t meal planned before, I can share with you my experience using Relish!
First of all I save money at the grocery store. Because I’m not buying willy-nilly, have a list and stick to it, I actually spend less even if some of the ingredients I need to buy are more expensive.
Secondly, it gives me ideas to get me started, even if I don’t use all the recipes on their site. And really that’s what I need most – the ideas. Take for instance one of the sides for a menu that I had planned for one evening, it was roasted asparagus with parmesan cheese. My family is not eating asparagus, but I used the recipe as written substituting broccoli in its place…and voila a new side that my family enjoyed.
That’s one of the great things about the way Relish! is set up, it’s flexible. When you choose a main dish you want to make you can choose one of many sides to go with it, and that’s awesome to be able to mix and match menus. You can also scale your recipe so if you’re cooking for 2, 4, 6, or 8 you’ll get the proper amounts to ensure your recipe comes out perfect.
I’ve been using Relish! for about a month now. There are meals that I want to make again and I can add those ones to my favorites folder for quick reference.
Relish! wants allow my readers to be able to experience their service so they’re offering you all one month free to try their site out. To try it out go to RelishRelish.com and enter the code COOKING in the upper right corner. You can join Relish! in 3-month, 6-month or yearly plan subscriptions. Monthly fees start as low as $4.90 a month.
