Well here it is a month into the new year, and I can honestly say that I’ve been doing really well watching what I’ve been eating. I didn’t set out to lose any weight per say, but just to eat a bit healthier and be more active. It’s obviously been working, and I have been using different books over the past few weeks to get into a routine.  I have actually lost nearly 4 pounds, plus I have more energy and have been sleeping better!

One of the books that I received was Reader’s Digest “The Digest Diet Cookbook.”

This is a kind of follow up book to the Digest Diet which provides you with a compendium of the best foods for fast, lasting weight loss. The Digest Diet Cookbook takes those foods, explains their role in your diet and is full of recipes pairing them together and providing meal plans that the average person can make at home.

The diet works in phases where you start out with plenty of fat releasing foods mixed together to provide you with a jumpstart boost to weight loss. With master recipes for shakes that provide enough variety to drink them once or twice a day for a couple of weeks, and then snacks, sides, salads, main dishes and one dish meals.

The Digest Diet and The Digest Diet Cookbook is written by Liz Vaccariello who is the Editor-in-Chief of Reader’s Digest, so she’s done her homework on these recipes. There are 150 of them in the book, so you can mix and match to your heart’s content.

If you’re looking for creative ways and daily menus to help you lose weight that are written for and to the average person, The Digest Diet Cookbook might be just what you’re looking for.

I received a media sample of The Digest Diet Cookbook. All opinions are my own. This post contains affiliate links. Published by Tammy Litke.
