My Christmas gift to me was an iPhone 4S. I got it a little early as I picked it up on Thanksgiving weekend and I’ve had fun looking for accessories for it ever since. The main things I’ve been browsing lately online and at retail stores have been cases. There are so many out there.
If you’ve ever seen the episode of The Big Bang Theory where Raj gets his iPhone, and there’s a scene in it where he’s trying to decide what case to put on it from a ‘fashion’ standpoint.. oh yeah, that’s me…LOL.
Which is why a PixCase phone case is perfect for me. Not only does it protect my phone, I can make it look anyway I want!
When you purchase the case it comes with an insert that you can use to trace around your own photo or design.
Simply cut out what you want to insert in the case.
Place it in the case. Put the case on your phone, and instant fashion statement or a photo that you can show off.
The great thing is…when you want to switch it out…just put in a new photo or design!
I had some scrapbook paper that I couldn’t wait to use. I mean, I went to town.
And I couldn’t help but make a festive insert for the next three weeks in mine…
All I used was wrapping paper. Genius!
But Jaymo (a division of Cottage Mills) who makes these creative personalized products, has a website where you can design inserts for your PixCase and then print them off.
It takes a bit of use to get the hang of it, but once you figure out how to add images and text, change the colors and fonts, you’re well on your way to having myriads of inserts for your PixCase.
The case wraps around the iPhone very snuggly, leaves your ports accessible, and protects your volume and sleep/wake buttons but still leaves them useable.
The only thing I’d mention to be careful with is how you put on and take off the PixCase if you have a screen protector on. I did find that because it fits so snuggly around the phone edges, that my screen protector lifted up a bit in the process of putting it on and taking it off. It didn’t damage it or anything but I did have to smooth the protector down each time I applied and removed the case. That’s a minor issue to me though considering I have unlimited case design with one product!
You can see the appeal since the PixCase for the iPhone 4 retails for $23.99. In just one evening with some leftover pieces of scrapbooking and wrapping paper I made 8 different inserts..that’s just $3.00 a piece! I have to warn you though, if you like to accessorize…it’s a little addictive. I’m already scouting out paper and design elements to make more!
Jaymo doesn’t only have PixCases for iPhones though, they also carry them for iTouches, iPads, and Blackberry devices (and iPhone 5 cases are coming soon!). Oh and for those of you that still go old school…they have PixPens too.
I designed one to match my festive iPhone PixCase.
They also carry tags and mugs that you can personalize.
PixCase is currently available at Michael’s Craft Stores, Hobby Lobby Stores and Walmart (in the photo department) and of course at their website Jaymo.co (which accepts PayPal). These make great gifts for tweens/teens, moms, dads, babysitters, teachers, well pretty much everyone!
I received a media sample of the PixCase to review from Jaymo. Published by Tammy Litke.
