I can’t start my day without a cup of Joe. Good thing I just read a magazine article the other day that said people who drank three to five cups of coffee per day had a 15% lower chance of death from diabetes and heart disease than those who didn’t sip java.
What I put in my mug matters though. I’m a straight in my veins kind of girl. Black coffee is my jam, better yet shots of espresso is where it’s really at for me.
This distinguished Marcuzzi espresso coffee blend consists of 90% Arabica beans and 10% full bodied Robusta beans. They select only the finest quality beans from around the world to ensure the perfect espresso from bean to cup. The Aroma and flavor of this superior coffee will delight your senses.
So the question is… does it live up to its description?
You’ll notice in my photo that there is no crema, that is because sadly I do not have an espresso machine at home. The crema is achieved with a certain amount of pressure. So my brew is more of an “espresso style” and not quite espresso as only an actual espresso machine can achieve. We do have a great high end machine in our church café and the next time I serve I’m going to make a couple of shots and will update the post with those results, but until then…
I have to say I love it. Even with just my gimped brewing, these beans have a bold, smooth, balanced flavor. There is no bitter taste while drinking or afterward. This is definitely a quality roast that tastes fresh.
I do occasionally have my espresso in a cold or frozen specialty drink too. I really liked the Marcuzzi for that because the coffee is intense enough that the water, ice and/or milk does not dilute the flavor.
