VeggieTales’ all-new DVD MacLarry and the Stinky Cheese Battle is a great pairing for quality, clean family fun this summer!
It’s hard finding content that is appropriate for all ages, but MacLarry and the Stinky Cheese Battle is great for anyone including your little ones!
Larry the Cucumber stars as MacLarry – a misfit inventor who is stuck in the middle of the silliest battle ever between two tribes of perpetual pranksters! When the biggest prank of the century is unleashed, the feuding tribes are in danger of being overcome by the stinkiest cheese in the land! Will MacLarry realize that his God-given talents may be just what is needed to save them all from the loathsome Limburger??
It had been a while since I sat down with the kids and watched a Veggie Tales movie. Sometimes I wonder if they’re getting to the age where Veggie Tales aren’t “cool” anymore. But once again, Veggie Tales outdid themselves with another humorous and very silly family-friendly movie.
MacLarry and the Stinky Cheese Battle was a lot of fun to watch. My 7 and 5-year old children absolutely loved it. In fact, they were already laughing when I just told them what the name of the movie was! There are many funny parts, and the Scottish accents only made it more amusing for the kids. The story of a misfit inventor stuck in the middle of the silliest battle between two tribes of perpetual pranksters was very entertaining. And as a parent, I was especially impressed at how well they presented the valuable lesson of individuality and working together, and that everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses. Usually I will try to point out some of the lessons and morals as we watch the movie, making the kids aware of the deeper meaning behind the silliness. But this time I was pleasantly surprised when my 5-year old, unprompted by me, said that it’s good that God gave us all different abilities and talents. That was all I needed – the kids can watch that movie whenever they want, and hopefully they won’t mind if mom wants to hang out and watch with them!
MacLarry and the Stinky Cheese Battle is available in retail stores and online tomorrow, July 30th!
