About a week and a half ago, I shared with you my Mt. Rushmore Sandwich that will be featured as a part of Kraft Food’s Sandwich Road Trip across America. As part of that I was also able to host a contest for a $100 Amex Gift Card for a reader who entered their favorite sandwich recipe. After moderating and verifying the 413 legitimate entries the winner is . . .
The Texas M&C Grilled Sandwich from Damian who (shocker) lives in Texas!
Ingredients:
2 slices Texas toast thick bread
2 cheese slices
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
1 tablespoon butter (or margarine)
Directions:
Prep Time: 5 mins Total Time: 10 mins
1. Toast bread in toaster.
2. Preheat skillet over medium heat.
3. Spread mayonnaise on each slice of bread.
4. Place both slices of cheese between the two slices of bread (on the mayonnaise side).
5. Melt butter in the skillet.
6. Place the sandwich in the skillet with the butter.
7. Use a spatula to turn sandwich from side to side until cheese is melted.
8. When the cheese is melted and the outside is crispy and browned to your taste, remove the sandwich and cut into your favorite shape (diagonal, or half, or into four squares).
9. Serve on a plate with your favorite side, chips, tomato soup, BOTH!
It’s true they make things bigger in Texas! This is one filling sandwich .
Thank you Kraft Foods for allowing me to represent the state of South Dakota in this yummy road trip. I’m sure there are going to be awesome sandwich recipes to try from each state!
The giveaway was sponsored by Kraft. I was compensated for creating a recipe for the Sandwich Road Trip, but any opinions stated are my own.
Was it really yummy?
My kids love the sandwich, and this looks delicious 🙂
