I don’t know what your ‘tech stash’ looks like when you go traveling, but ours is kind of crazy!  Three phones, Two Android Tablets, an iPad, a FitBit, a digital camera, and the list goes on. 

Based on most hotel rooms we’ve been on, plugs are limited.  Some of the newer hotels and those that have been renovated are getting savvier in that they are starting to put a couple of USB plugs in the room, but inevitably we’re plugging devices in to charge in whatever available outlet we can find…and usually that’s not many.

What’s unique about this charger is that it has dedicated ports for iPads, iPhones, and Android devices (it says Samsung, but its’ not specific to that brand).  What that means is it provides different amp rates for the different ports, with the ‘tablet’ ports providing higher amperage.  Between all the ports it gives out 6.2 amps which will be split among the different ports depending on how many are plugged in and which needs the largest boost.

When you plug it in the wall, there is a little blue light that turns on indicating the unit has power, and then you can proceed to plug your devices in to charge up.

The iClever® 5-Port USB Wall Charger did a good job charging our Samsung S4 and iPad 2 simultaneously in a timely manner.  What’s great to know is if I needed to I could still have charged up my husband’s S3, and his Nexus 7 tablet plus one other device.

$16.99 makes it a bargain price tag, due to its functionality, high amperage and portability or it’s accessibility to making it a central hub in the home to charge up devices all in one place.  The price also makes it an affordable gift for the holiday season, perfect for  teens or college students who are always needing to charge something up.
