We moved to the DFW Metro area in the summer of 2013 and despite being here nearly 8 years there is still SO much within the North Texas area for our family to discover. Now that we’re all vaccinated (hooray!) we’re once again going out. Our first sit down meal inside a restaurant in what seems like for-ev-er, was earlier this week when we were invited to dine at Hopdoddy Burger Bar in Euless, TX.
If you’re not familiar, Hopdoddy has been a Texas staple since 2010 and offers a wide variety of burgers made with fresh, all-natural proteins like Certified Piedmontese beef, buffalo, and sushi-grade tuna. Alongside burgers, Hopdoddy offers hand-cut fries, fresh salads, handspun shakes, and a full bar featuring local craft beer, regional spirits, and some of the best margaritas in town!
I don’t know how we’ve missed this gem of a burger place in the last 8 years, but I’m sure glad it was put on our radar! Hopdoddy is a fast casual restaurant, so you order and pay at the counter and then are served your meal at your table. The menu is diverse, so if you’re not adventurous (like my husband LOL), you can certainly get a basic burger or chicken tenders, but if you’re up for something different or unique there are plenty of options to fill your palate.
We placed our order (note that currently the Euless Glade Park location is cashless) and our drinks came out super-fast with our meal following soon after. And let me tell you about those drinks.. when they say they have some of the best margaritas in town, they aren’t kidding. Our daughter and I ordered the “Little Larry” which is a mini version of their House Frozen Margarita topped with Grand Marnier.
Check it out next to a water glass. I mean how cute is this?!
I regretted a little bit not getting the “Big Larry”, but considering I didn’t have the ability to take a nap afterward it was probably a good thing I stuck with the “little” 🙂
As for dinner, we all ordered burgers that evening.
Our daughter is mad for mushrooms. That girl orders everything and anything on a menu that has mushrooms. So it was no surprise that she ordered Hopdoddy’s Magic Shroom burger. It has creamy goat cheese, field mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo & basil pesto sauce. She declared it so, so good in between bites.
My husband is a creature of habit, nothing fancy or out of the norm, so the Lil’ Guy; 1/4 lb burger topped with American cheese & Alabama comeback sauce, was his pick. That being said he ordered it without the sauce because… basic 😉 He did add bacon though, and to counter that the heart-healthy pick of a whole wheat bun 🙂 Just go with it people! I was a little surprised by his bun choice actually because that’s not usually his jam, but he said it was super yummy so what do I know?!
Speaking of jam, I ordered the Bacon Jam Double. Two 1/4 lb beef patties topped with both white & yellow American cheeses, house-made tomato bacon jam, mustard grilled onions & pickled mayo.
The taste of beef and bacon jam. The greatest combination since milk and cookies. This was super tasty and that bacon jam and pickled mayo gave the burger a flavor boost that I loved. Also I am a huge fan of sweet potato fries and was so glad that they were on the menu to pair with my burger.
I think we all agreed that Hopdoddy raises the bar for fast casual dining. If you’re looking for a new place to dine in the DFW area, the one of a kind burgers and their boozy drinks are a couple of great reasons to check Hopdoddy Burger Bar out!
My son introduced us to Hopdoddy in Addison, Tx. He loved Goodnight Good cause burger. I love the Parmesan truffle fries and impossible burger.
