Love is in the Air, French Blue Wine is in the Glass

I’m so excited that there is hope on the horizon and we are seeing vaccines being administered!  That means that our time of quarantining and isolating won’t last much longer.  There is less than a month until Valentine’s Day though and the love in the air is thicker than the Covid 😉  We’ll still be celebrating at home, and the quality of our evening will not be diminished thanks to the French Blue Wine in our glasses.

A collaboration between winemaker Stephanie Rivin and C. Mondavi & Family, French Blue Wine is putting an American twist on Bordeaux.

For the past nine months we’ve kept a social bubble with two other couples.  I can’t tell you what a blessing it has been to have people that we can socialize with that we know are being as careful as we are about exposure during this crazy year.  And since French Blue Wine is all about enjoying friends and family with good wine and engaging conversations – or as the French say – living the joie de vivre (“joy of life”), we served up the samples we were sent at a game night we hosted with them last week.

These Appellation Bordeaux Contrôlée wines are crafted in world-renowned Entre-Deux-Mers. The blends are made in the largest wine region in Bordeaux (in-between Saint-Émilion and Graves) under the expert guidance of American winemaker Stephanie Rivin. The result is fresh, crisp French Rosé and Sauvignon Blanc offerings that make every day the perfect day.  One of our couple friends are quite the wine connoisseurs, so I was really looking forward to hearing their thoughts on the brand as they had never tried it before.

The French Rosé is a fresh strawberry pink pour.  It is crisp as its marketing notes, and the 70% Cabernet Franc 30% Merlot is a really a nice light beautifully balanced blend.  It’s highlighted by floral bouquet aromas.

The Sauvignon Blanc is a 100% varietal with classic Bordeaux bouquet of gooseberry and herb and flavors of kiwi, peach, and bright citrus. Compared to the Rosé it is considerably brighter and zippier, stunningly good, this one was the winner with our guests.  We can’t see tiring from this one, it’s vivid and fruit loaded.  The citrus and stone fruits really come into focus.  We all agreed that it’s just the right wine for a hot summer day!

Both wines allow for easy drinking,  Rosé All Day is more than just a turn of phrase with the French Blue Label!  Considering it is already the #20 French Rosé nationwide, we’re not the only ones to think so!

French Blue Wines are excellent quality especially for their accessible price point (suggested retail price for both blends is $14.99 750ml/$54.99 3L per bottle, which translates to an incredible bang for your buck) and availability (Whole Foods, World Market, Target, and Kroger). A veritable triple threat! For more information, visit https://www.frenchbluewine.com.
