Public Service Announcement – Mother’s Day is May 13th! (That’s in just two weeks by the way.)
Mom, she spent more on you than she did on herself, and you know it’s true because…well you do the same now too, right?! I know that the economy is rough for a lot of folks out there right now, but don’t skimp on mom, okay?
My mom LOVES flowers. Seriously.
If you look at her photos from her vacations, you’ll find lots and lots of pictures of flowers. She has them all over her home and balcony and for no other reason than she just gets pleasure out of how beautiful and creative God designed them all.
I’m sure you all have heard of that big flower brand FTD before. On FTD.com they have a Better Homes and Gardens line of flower arrangements for Mother’s Day.
I was surprised by my friend Alison from BeingAlison.com with a luxurious flower arrangement from FTD Better Homes and Gardens line called “Blooming Vision”.
Now I’m not a huge flower lover like my mom, and mostly that’s because the flowers I’ve received in the past have in my opinion not been worth the money that people have spent on them. So it is in all honesty that I say, you get what you’re paying for with these FTD.com Better Homes and Gardens bouquets.
It comes with a heavy glass vase, and they are available in a range of sizes from 13 – 27 stems.
Here’s why I think they are a value for the price point they sell at (between $62.99 – $102.99); the whole entire bouquet lasted a week. That’s a long time for cut flowers. And yesterday I pulled out the flowers that were looking passed their prime, and created a smaller bouquet with the freesias, asters, carnations and one of the daisies that were still looking so beautiful.
One week later!
I’m pretty sure my “mini arrangement” is going to last another few days at least, if not longer.
Plus these arrangements come with a free one-year subscription to Better Homes and Gardens Magazine. That to me is entirely a worthy gift for mom. Sure you could spend $9.00 for some flowers elsewhere, but they only might last a day or two.
See even I’m sold on flowers for Mother’s Day now (I would have cringed if my husband had bought me some last year) – the local store that put together my FTD.com Better Homes and Garden Bouquet did a FANTASTIC job – which is why I think if I ever order flowers I’ll go with FTD.com, with same day florist delivery. A local florist in the community where your recipient lives will put the arrangement together and deliver it. That I think makes all the difference.
Barring the flowers for our wedding, I think these are the nicest flowers I’ve ever received.
So you have two weeks to get Mom a gift, check out FTD.com, I don’t think your mom would be disappointed in the Better Homes and Gardens arrangements, but if you’re on a budget they do have Sale items, you can shop by price and for those of you (like me!) who may have a mom who lives in a different country, they even offer International Delivery (so no excuses!). Mom deserves some luxury, and flowers are an affordable one.
And for you FTD, just launched a new Mother’s Day Getaway Sweepstakes on the FTD Flowers Facebook page where, amongst other prizes, one Grand Prize winner will receive a trip for two to Morgan Bay Beach Resort in St Lucia. Prize includes a 4-night stay in a one-bedroom (double occupancy) Oceanview Suite with Morgan Bay’s all-inclusive program for breakfasts, lunches, dinners, snacks, unlimited beverages, all on-site activities, nightly entertainment, and more! Wow, what an awesome prize! Well I’m not hosting a getaway sweepstakes, but I am hosting a giveaway for a $50.00 FTD.com code.
