Many of my blogging friends have had a chance to attend red carpet premieres of various movies, it’s likely that you follow and read some their blogs as well so you’ve probably seen their posts. Well, I got a chance to host an ‘in-home’ red carpet premiere for Disney Pixar’s BRAVE On-Demand release. With before and after parties to boot! Read on to find out who attended this auspicious event, as well as how you can see BRAVE without ever having to leave your home!
So that my family wouldn’t eat the entire selection of goodies reserved for our ‘after party’, I decided to feed them a good supper themed around BRAVE. No one in my home was buying Queen Elinore’s “Haggis is just a bit of sheep’s stomach. Try it, it’s delicious.” line. But keeping with the highland theme and sheep, I made some Shepherd’s Pie…well really Cottage Pie, because Shepherd’s Pie is traditionally made with lamb (go figure?), and I skirted around that by using ground beef.
The guest list for our event was quite spectacular and in an effort to not completely bore you, I won’t include all my pictures, but here’s a taste of who attended.
My beautiful daughter, Amber (who wishes she had red, curly, flowing locks like Merida, but alas does not).
Me (of course). Look I’m even sporting some plaid for the event! Since my family wouldn’t wear any plaid, I declared this pink pattern our official family tartan (that’s what they get for being so stubborn!)
(excuse these two some what out of focus pictures, I think the paparazzi was a little excited with the guest list!)
Flynn Rider made an appearance on the red carpet. He chose to don the more casual look.
Dressed to the nines for this event is Stitch.
And Disney’s newest acquisition was represented by none other than Darth Vader himself. And…wow…Mickey photo bombed this pic!
Here’s some pictures of those three handsome guys all together.
And..another Mickey photo bomb. What’s up with that?
Now here we are in the main viewing room. On-Demand is easily reached through your television guide. We have a PVR from the cable company and you can easily find the movies you want to order through it. BRAVE was available on November 13th, the same day the DVD was released in stores.
The beauty of On-Demand? You never have to leave your home! Order it through your TV, it gets added to your cable bill. No leaving the house to return the movie. Easy, simple, watch it when you want. (Living in a northern state in winter…On-Demand is where it’s at folks.) BRAVE through our cable company is $3.99 for the standard version and $4.99 for the HD version.
Pixar Animation Studios whisks you away on an astonishing adventure to an ancient land full of mystery and tradition. Bursting with heart, unforgettable characters and Pixar’s signature humor, for the whole family. The Film is rated PG.
So we all had a great time watching BRAVE. It’s full of laughter and action. It will appeal to both girls and boys alike, young and old.
Set in the rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland, Disney Pixar’s “Brave” follows the heroic journey of Merida (voice of Kelly Macdonald), a skilled archer and headstrong daughter of King Fergus (voice of Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (voice of Emma Thompson). Determined to change her fate, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the unruly and uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (voice of Kevin McKidd), surly Lord Macintosh (voice of Craig Ferguson) and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (voice of Robbie Coltrane), unleashing chaos in the kingdom. When she turns to an eccentric Witch (voice of Julie Walters), she is granted an ill-fated wish and the ensuing peril forces Merida to harness all of her resources—including her mischievous triplet brothers—to undo a beastly curse and discover the meaning of true bravery.
Directed by Mark Andrews and Brenda Chapman and produced by Katherine Sarafian
I’m sure you all know that with a red carpet premiere the fun doesn’t stop after the movie showing, then it’s time to party.
And party we did. Here’s a peek of our after party spread. (We even included some apples for Angus.)
We put on the BRAVE Soundtrack, had some different activities going on coloring, puzzles, etc.
And then we found out why Mickey was photo bombing all the pictures with Vader…
It wasn’t Darth Vader at all, it was Mordu coming to crash the party!
We appeased him with some honey and berries and he went on his way – what an end to a fabulous night!
Have you seen BRAVE yet in your home? Are you planning to? If the children are fidgety or unruly after Thanksgiving dinner (or the husbands or teens for that matter too!), plop them in the den, order BRAVE On-Demand and keep them occupied for a bit. They’re all sure to be glued to the TV! Or…you can get the men to do the dishes, and you moms, grandmas and aunties can watch with the kids 🙂 !
Tammy Litke, received a gift card and promotional items to help with purchases to have this BRAVE On-Demand viewing party in her home. All opinions are her own, and were not influenced by compensation received.
Aww…this party looked awesome! You did a great job coordinating everything. I want to see this and I think my girls would like it. We have a version of "on demand" through our cable provider. This reminds me to try this option before we buy the movie to make sure the girls enjoy it!
Your viewing party looks so fun! I especially love that you made Shepard's Pie. We loved the Brave movie in theaters and hope to add it to our family's collection soon.
The cake looks great! I got to see this movie on opening week and really liked it. My favorite animated film in a long time. Looks like a fun time!
How fun! What a wonderful party. I love the red carpet shots. And that cake is amazing! I also didn't know that shepherd's pie made with beef (which is how I always make it too) is called cottage pie. Interesting! We haven't seen Brave yet and can't wait to. Maybe over Christmas break.
Too cute. You have such the imagination.
That cake is really cool! I thought BRAVE was such a cute film, my children really enjoyed it all three times we've seen it!
I make shepherd's and cottage pie all the time! YUM!
How fun is that?! I love Darth Bear crashing the party. This movie was so cute!
