You know you’re in Kentucky for the Derby when you step off the plane in the Louisville airport and get handed Bourbon Balls!

It’s hard to believe it’s already a week ago that I was at Churchill Downs. The weekend was filled with so many activities, one of which was to meet celebrity Top Chef judge Gail Simmons and have breakfast with her the morning of the Kentucky Derby.

If going to the Kentucky Derby is on your bucket list, I encourage you to find a way to make it happen. Everything about the event is filled with “E’s”; Energy, Excitement and Exhilaration. From the crowds to the horses, it’s undeniably a unique experience.

I’m back! And I had a fantastic time with Pure Leaf at the 138th running of the Kentucky Derby.

There is SO much more to the Derby then that exhilarating two minute run for the roses though, and I’ll be sharing a number of posts of what I got to experience in Louisville that weekend.
