Beaded Pumpkin Decoration

If you want an easy, chic decorating idea for fall, why not make a beaded pumpkin?!  You can display them at the start of fall right through Thanksgiving.  All the materials you need are available for purchase online at Oriental Trading.Beaded pumpkinMaterials

Pencil
Ceramic Pumpkins
Black Round Adhesive Jewels
Acrylic Paints

Instructions

Paint the stem of the ceramic pumpkin with acrylic paint.  I used the Mint from the Martha Stewart paints linked above and then lightly painted over it with the Chestnut color.  Let the paint dry before proceeding to the next step.  From my photos you can see I did this step last, but realized at that point that it probably would have made more sense to have done it first.

Using your pencil draw some curlicue patterns on the pumpkin extending from the stem out along the top.  The pumpkin I made is 8 1/2″ tall and my design from stem to the lowest part is 4″.Now take the black round adhesive jewels and stick them on your penciled patterned lines. Each package has 300 sticker jewels in it.  I used every. last. one.  So I suggest buying at least two packages for the big pumpkin and if you’re going to make more than one (the ceramic pumpkins come in a set of three and the 8 1/2″ is the largest), buy an additional pack for each pumpkin you make.  They stick on the ceramic surface well, but I did lose a few to dropping them on the floor when taking them off the sheet…having more than you need is always good 🙂The final look is like this:beaded pumpkinTada!  Now how easy is that?!  And think about how great it will be when people ask you where you got those beautiful pumpkins on your table or mantle and you can tell them that you made them? 🙂

  1. That is super cute. I think I would rather have those than real pumpkins. Then you don’t have the problem of forgetting it on the porch and having to clean up a mess later!

  2. This beaded Pumpkin is just gorgeous and I want to make it this year for Halloween! Thanks for such a fun idea for a Craft!
