Adventure Gear for Adventure Travels – #BRXtravelgear

I’m so excited – my trip is coming up soon, and I already started my packing list. But in order to pack I need something to pack all my stuff IN! Because we’re not just heading to Alaska, but also spending some time in Vancouver, BC with family for a few days prior to our trip, taking only carry-on luggage for our trip isn’t going to work. But with only one large old suitcase to pack things in, what’s a family to do? Well Adventure Travels need Adventure travel gear right? And so off to the Great Outdoor Store we went to see what they had in the way of BRX Luggage.

Scroll through my thisMoment show below to see the store, selections and what we ultimately purchased for our #BRXtravelgear. (Clicking on the picture will take you to the thisMoment site, because the embed is currently not working on my blog).

Sioux Falls isn’t a metropolis, so I wasn’t surprised that there wasn’t a huge selection of BRX Gear at the Great Outdoor Store. It’s actually the only place in our city that sells the Briggs and Riley products. We kind of had our hopes set on an actual “suitcase” rather than the Rolling Duffle, but the store didn’t have a 25” Upright Suitcase in stock – we were assured though by the staff at the store when we bought the Rolling Duffle, that Briggs and Riley makes really good outdoor luggage no matter which travel gear item it is.

After they removed the “stuffing” that was used for display – we could see that there is a lot more room for packing in this duffle than a traditional suitcase, and really neat flaps that you can snap up to the sides to make the duffle more ‘rigid’ on the outer edges.

When we came home and placed it up against our large suitcase – we realized that although we didn’t initially have a choice, we liked the 28” Rolling Duffle bag from BRX and are glad that it was all that was available in a larger piece, because we likely wouldn’t have purchased it otherwise, but I think we’ll be happy with it. (I’ll let you know what we thought of it, and how it stood up to the Grizzly Bears airport luggage carousel when we come home.

  1. Funny, that's what I wound up getting too. I also thought the backpack was a wee bit too small, but I think it's because their 26 inch duffle is supposed to be the larger alternative. It didn't have wheels but it did have straps for backpacking as well. Still, I heard the 28-incher calling my name. LOL
