Hah! With all the Disney movie postings I’ve been doing this week, I bet you though this was a Disney DVD or movie sequel to The Little Mermaid, but I assure you it’s not.
Actually this is the real deal, over in Denmark they just unveiled “Han” (no not Solo, stay with me here – Han actually means “him” in Danish). He’s a polished stainless steel sculpture of a young boy on a stone, in the same artistic vein as ‘The Little Mermaid’.

A very neat feature of this statue is that his eyes will close for a split second once every hour – just one blink – before it becomes still for another 59+ minutes. I can just imagine the crowds standing around waiting to see this..and missing it because they blinked!
What I find most interesting about Han is where he is going to reside – that being on the harbor of Elsinore across from the Castle of Kronborg. If that means nothing to you, you need a refresher course in your British Literature course – it’s the famous historic setting of Shakespeare’s Hamlet.
I think I just added one more thing to see on my bucket list.
