VTech LS6475-3 Multitasking Phone System – Gift Guide Pick

Do you ever find yourself frustrated because you need to be on the phone but you also have a million other things to do around your home?  Whether it’s because you’re waiting on hold to iron out details with an insurance company, talking long distance to family or friends or a work related call, you are frustrated because your child needs a band-aid, your laundry needs folding or you’re in the middle of making dinner.

Personally I’ve been in all of those situations.  All of my family lives at least 500 miles away so when we phone each other the calls can last hours.  And with five of the members having birthdays in November, a nephew with one in December plus Christmas, our ears and hands are busy!  But that just puts me in a large group of people, 45% of VTech Holiday Survey respondents said a phone call to catch up is the best present a distant friend or family can give them for the holidays.  Calling friends and family was the thing they wished they did more frequently during the holiday season.  I’m guessing many of us put it aside because there is always something else keeping our hands busy at this time of the year.

The other day my mom called me just to say hello, and it was the perfect time to try out my new VTech LS6475-3 Multitasking Phone System.  Before having this phone, I’d grab myself a cup of coffee and sit myself down on the couch, and know that the hour or so I was going to spend chatting with my mom was precious and the other stuff would just have to get caught up on later.

But this time I used the headset from the VTech LS6475-3 to talk with her.  My husband was kind enough to take a picture of me while I was talking, LOL!  I was very impressed with the sound quality from it.  But in the hour and a half my mom and I caught up with life in two different countries, I made lunch and folded the laundry.  It is really like having an extra pair of hands.  In that same survey I mentioned at the beginning of the post 81% of respondents (92% of parents) ranked a device that could help you multi-task and get more things done as very/somewhat important – the VTech LS6475-3 is where it’s at if you want to talk on the phone and get something else done!

The handsets on this model are very sleek, you can see they have a pretty thin profile.  And I love the way the headset attaches to the base unit with a magnetic hold so that it won’t knock off while it’s charging.

This phone has an abundance of features (you can see them all if you look at the product spec page) many of which we’ve already put in use the short time we’ve had it.

One of my favorite ones is the audible Caller ID feature.  After the second ring the handsets and /or base can announce whose calling based off the Caller ID.  It’s a super handy feature to have if the phone is not in reach.  Now I don’t have to trip over my feet to race to the phone only to find out a marketing research firm is calling me to find out what kind of ice cream I like to eat.  But if it’s a call I’m waiting for, I can drop what I’m doing to run to the phone.

The phone has excellent range – up to 500 feet.  We live in a condominium building and the exercise room is down the hall from our unit.  The phone works just fine in there.  Considering there is another unit between ours and the exercise room, that’s incredible.

The Push-To-Talk feature allows the handsets to act as walkie talkies.  Another great thing for when we’re in other parts of our building.  If my husband wants to ask me a question when I’m in the community room, rather than going to find me, he can just use the handset to ask me (providing I remembered to take the other one with me that is!).

The phone is interference free.  It doesn’t interfere with wireless network or other wireless devices.  Shout hooray, no more calls with strange ghost voice on them because you’re hearing your neighbor’s baby monitor!

If you’re looking for a new phone system, a gift for a techie, or a subtle hint to a family member that they can’t use the excuse they’re too busy to call anymore – I recommend looking into getting the VTech LS6475-3 Multitasking Phone System.
