The Popularity Papers is a series of books about best friends, Lydia Goldblatt and Julie Graham-Chang. Written in a journal style featuring handwritten typeset and plenty of colorful pictures, it is the chronicle of these girls on their quest to becoming popular. But just what ‘popular’ is seems to be elusive to them, and usually they find along the way that popularity isn’t all that it’s cut out to be.

THE POPULARITY PAPERS BOOK THREE: Words of (Questionable) Wisdom from Lydia Goldblatt and Julie Graham-Chang (Amulet Books; October 2011), reunites BFFs Lydia and Julie for all new antics and adventures. The girls write a ‘trunk list’ (because I bucket list just isn’t big enough), but when their plans backfire, the girls learn a valuable lesson in friendship and loyalty.

This book is just plain fun, but at the same time, there are many lessons to be learned. Amy Ignatow’s illustrations are part of what makes this series so delightful, part graphic novel, part journal – all good!

THE POPULARITY PAPERS BOOK THREE: Words of (Questionable) Wisdom from Lydia Goldblatt and Julie Graham-Chang is available at book retailers in store and online nationwide for a retail price of $15.95.

I received a copy of this book to review.
