Sweet & Savory Apricot Chicken

If you want a healthy alternative to using salt in recipes, you might want to try using Mrs. Dash.

I found an advertisement in a magazine published a couple of years ago that featured the Garlic & Herb blend, and the ad had a reader-tested recipe. It just so happens that I had recently bought a huge bottle of the Mrs. Dash Garlic & Herb blend at Sam’s Club on clearance. So I decided to try this recipe out. It was delicious.

SWEET & SAVORY APRICOT CHICKEN
Serves: 4 • Prep Time: 5 minutes • Cook Time: 12 to 15 minutes

Ingredients:
1 Tbsp. Mrs. Dash Garlic & Herb Seasoning Blend
1/2 cup apricot preserves
2 tsp. Dijon-style mustard
2 tsp. honey
1 tsp. vinegar
1 lb. boneless, skinless chicken breast halves

Directions:
1.
Mix all ingredients (except chicken) together well.
2. Basting the chicken frequently with the mixture, grill for 12 to 15 minutes until cooked. (Alternatively you could do what I did, and make the sauce ahead of time, marinate the chicken in it, throw it on the grill and then just turn it after six or seven minutes, and baste it then)

How easy is that? And it really is so tasty.

  1. That picture plus the recipe makes this go to my "have to try" list. It really looks and sounds so good.

  2. We just bought a whole lot of chicken breast for a great price and I have been looking for some quick recipes.
