Summer is a season that many people look forward to, but for some, the prospect of wearing a bathing suit can be daunting. Fortunately, there are plenty of modest bathing suits available at Calypsa.com that can make you feel comfortable and confident as you soak up the sun. In this article, we’ll discuss some tips for getting ready for summer with modest bathing suits.

Know your options
There are many types of modest bathing suits available, from one-piece swimsuits to swim dresses, tankinis, and even modest bikinis on Calypsa’s website. Take some time to explore your options and find a style that makes you feel comfortable and confident. Look for suits with higher necklines, longer hemlines, and fuller coverage. You might also consider suits with built-in bras or tummy control panels for extra support and coverage.
I usually stick with a tried and true Tankini set during summer, but when Calypsa asked me to review a suit of my choice I decided to be different and went for the Lexi Swim Tunic.
Being fairly short (okay really short!), I knew this would fit more like a dress on me, and sure enough it does. It has a great built-in bra with removable cups, for those of us that need support.

Consider your activities
Think about the activities you’ll be doing in your bathing suit. If you plan to swim or play beach volleyball, you’ll want a suit that stays in place and provides plenty of support. If you’re lounging by the pool or taking a leisurely stroll along the beach, you might prefer a more relaxed, flowing style.
Ah this is why I love the Lexi Tunic style! Since it does have the built in bra it provides the support I need for activities, but it also is great for just being out and about and grabbing a drink or lunch at a resort when “bathing suits” are not allowed 😉 This style really appealed to me because we have friends that have pools, and often when we visit we decide at the last minute to swim. This way I can wear the Lexi Tunic as a “dress” but be ready to jump in the pool at a moments notice.
While the Lexi Tunic is lined, it does not have a built in bottom. You will have to purchase those separately. I chose to get the Boyshorts in a matching blue.

Find the right fit
The key to feeling confident in any bathing suit is finding the right fit. Take your measurements and consult size charts to ensure you’re ordering the correct size.
Calypsa has a pretty good return policy. You can:
• Exchange for another item*. Keep things simple by using their prepaid return label to mail your items back at no extra cost.
• Receive store credit for the full price of your purchase, plus they’ll add an extra $15 to that credit! Keep things simple by using their prepaid return label to mail your items back at no extra cost.
• Receive a refund for your order. A flat fee of $5.95 for the prepaid shipping label will be deducted from your refund.
*If the item you’re exchanging costs less than your original purchase, they’ll refund you the difference. If the new item costs more, they’ll charge you for the difference in price.
So don’t be afraid to order a few different sizes and styles to try on at home.
I found Calypsa’s sizing chart is pretty accurate. Based on my chest size and my waist size, I chose a Medium in both pieces. I say it’s accurate because I would usually order a Small in a swimsuit, but both these fit me. I feel like the boyshorts fit on the smaller size of a medium, but I think that’s due to the cut of the style not a sizing issue. I’ve never really worn boyshorts due to the style, but this was the only swim bottom they had in the lighter blue to match. I already have a navy bottom, so thought I’d go with a different color. While they fit fine and are both comfortable and efficient to wear under the Lexi Tunic, I probably would go with a different swim bottom if I was wearing a suit where they were showing.

Accessorize
Accessories can help you feel more confident in your bathing suit. Consider a wide-brimmed sun hat, sunglasses, and a cover-up or sarong. You might also want to invest in a good quality sunscreen and a stylish beach bag to complete your look.
Calypsa sells accessories too!

Practice self-care
Finally, remember that confidence comes from within. Even if it means getting dental implant surgery to straighten your smile to make you feel more confident in your bathing suit – you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do! Take care of yourself by getting plenty of rest, eating well, and staying hydrated. Consider adding some light exercise to your routine to help you feel more confident and comfortable in your bathing suit.
Getting ready for summer with modest bathing suits is all about finding a style that makes you feel comfortable and confident. Consider Calypsa.com for your modest bathing suit needs, add a few well-chosen accessories, and you can feel great as you soak up the sun this summer.
