In case you didn’t listen to your mom when you were little “breakfast is the most important meal of the day”. And while I’m not the best at making sure my family always gets it; protein is an important part of breakfast, because it keeps you full until the next snack or meal.
If you’re a regular blog reader than you’ll know that a while back I did a review on Silk Fruit&Protein here on my site. Well today I’m going to share a couple of smoothie recipes that I concocted using two of the flavors they offer, Mango Peach and Strawberry Banana.
Not only do they have a great taste – they also offer up protein. They are a tasty and easy way to get your protein, and if you have five extra minutes in the morning, you can ‘plump’ it up a bit further by making a smoothie. So if you find yourself needing to grab and go or your kids would rather ‘drink’ their breakfast than eat it, here’s a couple of smoothies for you to try. The Silk Fruit&Protein provides your flavor base and you can just add to it from there. The Strawberry Banana Peanut Butter Smoothie actually ends up having 9 grams of protein in it per serving.
Silk Fruit&Protein is available at most grocers in a quart size and you’ll find #SilkFruit exclusively at Walmart, in the dairy department by the milk, in 1/2 gallons.
