Marinated Slaw Recipe

Hard to believe it’s July 4th already, isn’t it?!  This is one of my favorite days of the year.  But this year it will be bittersweet.

For the past number of years now we’ve celebrated the 4th with Amber’s best friend’s family…whose mom also happens to be my bestie as well.  We hang out, the girls do their thing, we eat, we eat some more, then we eat s’mores, and then her husband puts on a fireworks show for us all.

Every year it gets better and better, and when they helped us get rid of some of our larger items a couple of weeks ago by bringing their trailer by, we were assured that this year would be the grandest yet.  And I can’t wait till this evening!  It will be a great send off for us, that’s for sure.

I usually bring along some snacks or a dessert to share, but this year I’m just bringing cleaning and beauty products LOL, since a lot of that stuff the movers won’t take because it’s flammable or liquid.

I did want to share this easy Marinated Slaw recipe though from eMeals July 4th menu that I made last week for dinner.  It’s a perfect July 4th recipe if you still have to make a side dish for guests or to bring along to a party today.

I left out the pepper, onion and olives since I didn’t want the extra food in my fridge just before we moved but I had all the other ingredients (well I had to buy the coleslaw!).  It’s a good way to prepare it for picky eaters too (like my husband) who don’t like a lot of ‘extras’ in their food.

I love that eMeals provides special holiday menus with many dishes to choose from.  Their July 4th menu has 6 recipes to make, from start to finish they all sound delicious, and it even comes with a shopping list to do your grocery shopping with!  As part of the eMeals Blogger Network I received a free year of eMeals so I could share with you some of the highlights of their services.  If you subscribe today you can save 15% by using the code FOURTH when you check out.

I hope you all have a fun and safe 4th of July!
